Legendary DJ Pete Tong performed a 90-minute set for more than 900 P&O Cruises guests aboard the Arvia while the ship was docked at Ibiza’s Botafoc Pier.

The special performance took place in the ship’s SkyDome during Arvia’s 14-night Western Mediterranean cruise. According to P&O Cruises, the event gave passengers the opportunity to see Tong perform on the island that remains closely associated with his career.

“I’m still thinking about Saturday night,” Tong said. “I loved playing in the SkyDome on Arvia. Thanks to everyone who came along and made it so special.”

Paul Ludlow, president of Carnival UK and P&O Cruises, said the performance was designed to offer guests an experience they might not normally associate with a cruise vacation.

“Pete has played such an important role in shaping the global dance music scene, and having him perform exclusively for P&O Cruises in Arvia’s SkyDome felt like a perfect fit,” Ludlow said.

“We’re always looking for ways to surprise and delight our guests with experiences they wouldn’t expect to find on a cruise holiday.”

During the event, guests were also offered Hierbas Ibicencas, together with Ibiza-inspired cocktails and regional dishes at the ship’s Sunset Bar.

The glass-enclosed SkyDome, which incorporates a poolside entertainment venue, has previously welcomed other well-known performers. These include Arvia’s godmother Nicole Scherzinger and Take That singer Gary Barlow.

Tong’s performance took place during Arvia’s round-trip Western Mediterranean cruise from Southampton. The 14-night voyage departed on September 13 and included calls at La Coruña, Malaga, Alicante, Ibiza, Marseille, Barcelona and Cadiz.
